Rain stops HTZ FM Night at the Races In It’s Tracks at Merrittville Speedway
THOROLD, Ontario (May 9th, 2026) … As drivers and fans began to descend upon Merrittville Speedway Saturday night for 97.7 HTZ FM’s Night at the Races, a pop up thunder stormed brewed in the distance. Shortly after 6pm, the skies opened up with a heavy downpour with several lightning strikes in the area. Track crews quickly sent everyone home as the sudden downpour lost the track surface before engines could ever fire.
Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing returns May 16th for the first of a long weekend doubleheader. It’s a full card of stock car racing on 2 Cool Automotive Night as Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing is presented by VP Racing Fuels. Then on Monday May 18th, the Victoria Day Special presented by MSL Watson Landscaping and Construction with a visit from Ken Schrader and the CAN/UMP Modifieds. Pit Gates will open at 5pm, with grandstands opening at 5:30pm, and racing will get underway at 7pm.
