Heavy Rain Gets Merrittville for Second Straight Week
THOROLD, ONTARIO (April 25, 2026) … Merrittville Speedway management was forced to pull the plug on the 2026 edition of the Spring Sizzler scheduled for Saturday, April 25.
Heavy rains throughout the overnight on Friday plus the forecast for more of the same throughout the day on Saturday was the determining factor in the decision.
Merrittville will return to action on Saturday, May 2 as Loop Paint presents the Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series featuring the Commercial Auto Electric 358 Modifieds, Semenuk’s Esso/Baron Roofing DIRTcar Sportsman, RONA/Doidge Mod Lites, Hoosier Stocks, and the All-Star Concrete 4 Cylinders. Also scheduled is the first home track event for the 4 Cylinders as part of the Duel on the Dirt for 2026. Pit gates will swing open at 5:00pm, with grandstands opening at 5:30pm, with racing beginning at 7pm.
