Peters Construction Group Presents 75th Anniversary Season Opener This Saturday at Merrittville Speedway
THOROLD, ONTARIO — The 2026 racing season roars to life at Merrittville Speedway as Opening Day is set to deliver a full night of thrilling dirt track action on Saturday night, April 18. Presented by Peters Construction Group, fans will be treated to an exciting kickoff highlighted by the CARQUEST 358 Modifieds Dirt Duel Race #1.
Headlining the program will be the Commercial Auto Electric 358 Modifieds, taking center stage for the first leg of the Carquest Dirt Duel Series, where early-season momentum and bragging rights will be on the line. A full card of Merrittville’s competitive Bobcat of Hamilton weekly racing series divisions will round out the evening, showcasing some of the region’s top racing talent.
Joining the 358 Modifieds will be the Semenuk’s Esso/Baron Roofing DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, Rona Doidge Modified Lites, and the Allstar Concrete 4 Cylinders.
Fans can expect a packed night of wheel-to-wheel racing across all divisions as drivers shake off the offseason rust and look to make an early statement in the championship chase.
Pit gates will open at 4:00pm, with grandstands opening at 5:30pm, hot laps at 6:30pm, and the first green flag of 2026 in the region will fly shortly after 7:00pm.
