Canada Day Weekend Doubleheader This Weekend at Merrittville
THOROLD, ONTARIO (June 26, 2023) … The Canada Day long weekend is a busy one at Merrittville Speedway as “Canada’s Oldest Dirt Track” will have another doubleheader weekend filled with excitement.
Fans are encouraged to wear Red and White for the Best Canada Day Apparel Contest and kids can participate in the Kid Zone from 4:30-6pm, with bounce houses and more. We will be giving away 300 free Canada Day cupcakes. The Right Choice Auto & Leisure DIRTcar Sportsman will be headlining the program with a Western Region event as part of the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series. The Corr/Pak Merchandising 358 Modifieds, Hoosier Stocks, Vansickle Pet Valu/PV on the Lane 4 Cylinders, and the NRVRS Vintage Cars will all be in action. Fireworks will light up the sky to celebrate the long holiday weekend.
Saturday’s program is presented by Bobcat of Hamilton. Main gates will open at 4:30pm, pit gates will open at 5pm, and racing will get underway at 7pm Saturday night.
Then July 2nd, Rona Doidge Building Centres presents Wreckfest Jr. featuring the 72 lap enduro powered by 97.7 HTZ FM takes over the racetrack on Sunday Afternoon. The event will also feature a Pro Rider Freestyle MX performance and a gut and go demo derby. Pit Gates open at 9:00am, grandstands at 11:30 and the event will get underway at 1:00pm.
