Peacemaker 420-75 Lap Hoosier Stock Race to Pay $8000 Purse on Victoria Day Monday

THOROLD, ONTARIO (May 10, 2023) … Racing on Victoria Day Monday at Merrittville Speedway has been a tradition that goes back decades. This coming Victoria Day will see Ken Schrader’s return to Merrittville. Schrader will be racing in a 358 Modified. The Late Model division makes a return to Canada's oldest dirt track as the Northeast Late Model Alliance comes to visit. ZFS Benefit Solutions will present the Victoria Day program, part of the 72nd season of racing at Merrittville.

Kenny Schrader won in his first appearance at Merrittville back in 2019, winning the UMP Modified event and is no stranger to racing in Southern Ontario. In 2022, the Fenton, MO native returned to Merrittville, finishing 16th in the 358 Modified feature, driving a car for Hall of Famer “Mr. Small Block” Pete Bicknell.

The Hoosier Stocks will be featured in a 75-lap event presented by Peacemaker 420. Total purse for the Hoosier Stocks will be almost $8,000. The event that will feature the top Hoosier Stock drivers from across the province, will be $2,500 to win, $1,000 for second, and $750 for third, with $100 to take the green. All cars MUST be following the Ontario Dirt Competition Committee (ODCC) Rules.

Victoria Day Monday will also feature a 40-lap race for the Corr/Pak Merchandising 358 Modifieds. The holiday usually brings in a few invaders to the Niagara Region and will also bring drivers over from across the border. The RONA/Doidge Builders Mod Lites will round out the racing program. The night will be capped off with a fantastic firework show that is guaranteed to light up the sky.

Pit gates will open at 4pm, with grandstands opening at 5:30pm, and racing will begin at 7:00pm. Special event admission prices will be in place, with pit admission being $45 and kids 5 and under will be charged $20 pit admission. Grandstand admission is $25 for seniors, seniors (60 +) and youth (13-18) will be $20, with kids 8-12 admitted $10. As always, kids 7 and under will be admitted FREE.
