Test and Tune Kicks Off 71st Season at Merrittville

THOROLD, ONTARIO (April 20, 2022) …Merrittville Speedway hosted a successful Test and Tune session on Wednesday evening, with 61 cars signing in pit side for the evening’s practice session.

Former track champion Gary Lindberg of Ridgeway, Ontario set the fastest lap in the Corr-Pak Merchandising 358 Modifieds with a time of 15.619 seconds in the Sittler Racing entry. “The Mongrel” Jay Mallory from St. Catharines, Ontario set the pace in the third session for the Right Choice Auto & Leisure DIRTcar Sportsman with a 16.094 second lap. Multi-time track champion Dave Bailey from Hagersville, Ontario set quick time during the second Hoosier Stock practice session of the night with a time of 18.590 seconds. Jeremy Hughes ran the fast lap in the 4 Cylinder division out of those than had working transponders. Mitch Brown set quick time in his 360 Sprint Car with a time of 14.108 seconds. Several 360 and Crate Sprints were on hand as well as Tim Natalino with his Vintage Car.

JNE Recovery and DDL & Co presents the Spring Sizzler on Saturday night featuring the Southern Ontario Sprints, Corr-Pak Merchandising 358 Modifieds, Right Choice Auto & Leisure DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, and the Vansickle Pet Valu/PV on the Lane 4 Cylinders.

Pit gates will open at 4:00pm with grandstands at 5:30pm, and racing will get underway at 7:00pm. DDL &Co. has put in an extra $6100 into the top five positions for the weekly Merrittville divisions competing at the Spring Sizzler, the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, and 4 Cylinders.
