(2) RULES:
Rules for both divisions will follow the 2008 DIRT Rule Book.
Sportsman will be allowed to run with the 2007 DIRT “Open Motor” option.
Additional Rules:
¨ You may not run
both Sportsman and 358 Modified’s divisions in one night;
¨ If the Sportsman
and 358 Modified’s are racing at the same track on one night, and you are a Sportsman driver that
doesn’t regularly compete in the Sportsman division at that track, you may race with the 358
Modified’s, but must follow 358 Modified Rules
(3) PROCEDURAL RULES:
¨ Heat races will
be lined up according to a pill draw. You will draw as you enter the back gate.
¨ 24 cars will
start the feature event for Sportsman, 30 cars for Modifieds.
¨ The only
guaranteed cars are those in the top 5 in points at the competing track. If you must use your
guaranteed starting position, you will forfeit last place money.

(7) 5 for 5 SERIES BONUS:
As an added bonus, drivers in their respective series will split a $2500.00
5 for 5 Series bonus. To be eligible for this bonus, you must compete in all 5 races. For
example, if 10 drivers compete in all 5 Lucas Oil Sportsman Summer Shootout, each of the 10
drivers will receive $250.
(8) THE LUCAS OIL CHALLENGE CUP FOR SPORTSMAN:
- A one time event to be held at Brighton
Speedway on Friday, September 26th.
- Each Lucas Oil Shootout Winner will be a
guaranteed starter.
- In victory lane at Brighton, the winner will
declare a home track. That track will receive a $3500.00 towards a Sportsman purse for 2009.
