Merrittville with Minor Sport Night
An action-packed Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series event at Merrittville Speedway will help Hingston Metal Fabricators celebrate their 60th year in business Saturday July 27th with anyone 18 years of age and younger FREE in their team sweaters in the Grandstand.
“Our Minor Sport Night every year is a great deal,” relates (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell-Jones, “for the kids it’s great for summer teams to get together away from the field before the season ends or for those waiting to get back on the ice – it’s a great chance to bring a team together.”
Hingston Metal Fabricators is celebrating 60 years as a family-owned Custom Metal Fabricating Facility with over 20 skilled trades staff. Experienced in industrial/commercial steel fabricating, industrial air handling equipment and boiler components, stainless steel counter tops and catering equipment, full range of aluminum fabrication and welding as well as metal and non-metallic flexible connections.

“We have seen some incredible racing through all 5 divisions this season,” relates Bicknell-Jones, “as we begin the stretch run to close out 2013 … it can only get better.” 10 different drivers have visited victory lane so far in the Bobcat of Hamilton 358 Modifieds in 13 Events with Pete Bicknell leading Scott Wood. In the Rick’s Delivery Sportsman Division, Gary Lindberg has a 10 point lead over defending champion Cody McPherson while multi-time champion Josh Sliter leads Jason Corless in the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites with Rick Koabel in third.
The battle for top spots in the full fendered divisions may be the ones to watch with Kevin Knapp leading defending champ Rob Murray with just 26 points separating drivers in the Top 5. The Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Division has Evan Curtis leading with just 10 points between the leader and the top 3 of Triple Crown Series Point Leader Tyler Lafantaisie and Kyle Pelrine.
The Great Clips Grandstand Ticket Office opens at 5:30 and it’s going to be great with all Minor Sport Team Players in their Sweaters admitted FREE. Showtime is at 7:00 PM.
