Thorold, Ontario (May 4)
– The three car L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modified
Kendrick Racing Team was hoping to make quite a splash
at Merrittville Speedway Saturday May 3rd.
As a first time race
team sponsor of Tim Jones and Scott George, Global
Warranty Corporation was set to make a splash of their
own with plenty of giveaways as sponsors of the
Thorold showplace’s 57th consecutive season opener.
There were plenty of
splashes all right – as all afternoon rains postponed
the first full point night of 2008 for the 5 DIRTcar
Weekly Racing Series Divisions.
“We were looking
forward to welcoming Global Warranty Corporation,”
revealed (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “not only
to our first full card of the year … but to Kendrick
Racing as well … they were real excited about their
team and the night … we hope to announce a new date in
the very near future for the leading North American
warranty provider.”
Also delayed was the
2008 Registration Night for the Meridian Credit Union
Kids Club.
That event for the
younger race fans will now join the Pen Centre
presentation of Canadian Tire Financial Services
Employee Night – Saturday May 10th.
The Lucas Oil Open
Wheel Lites will be featured in the opening round of
the Mod Lite Championship Tour North Series in
addition to regular events for the L. St. Amand
Enterprises 358 Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs
Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks and Turn 4 Collision 4
Cylinders plus an Open Wheel Mechanics Race.
Grandstand Gates will
open at 5:30 with Showtime set for the new time of
7:00 PM. For further information call 905-892-8266 or
