Thorold, Ontario (March 26) – Welland’s Boston Pizza celebrated it’s grand opening April 25, 2006.

Two years later – it will launch it’s third year of operation with a special ticket offer for Merrittville Speedway Race Fans – all season long – and it all starts in just 28 days or four more Saturdays – when the 57th consecutive racing season begins with the Baron Roofing Windows and Doors Spring Sizzler 100.

“We’re excited to bring the Boston Pizza experience to Merrittville,” says Trevor Sainsbury.  “As local residents, we look forward to serving and meeting people from our community and offering race fans a great, new casual dining experience.”

With every 2008 Merrittville Speedway Grandstand Ticket purchased – race fans can look forward to a special offer from the Niagara Street establishment which at the time of opening was the 58th location across Ontario.

What is that special offer?

You’ll find out … every time you purchase your Merrittville Speedway Grandstand Tickets this season!

The 258-seat restaurant offers two experiences under one roof – a family-friendly dining room and an action-packed sports bar complete with four 56 inch LCD televisions with stereo sound.  Boston Pizza also features a heated patio beautifully decorated with cultured stone and glass walls.

“We’re equally excited about this new partnership,” revealed (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “race fans and teams alike should make it their team headquarters … you’re among friends at Boston Pizza!”

From the race track on a Saturday Night – head towards Welland on Merrittville Highway and before you see David Chevrolet Corvette on your right hand side – you will see Boston Pizza on your left.

Merrittville Race Fans of course are welcome any time at Welland’s Boston Pizza.

The restaurant is owned by Sainsbury and his wife Sarah and their partners Lou and Debbie Memme, Ryan Memme and Stephen Memme. The group also owns the Boston Pizza location in Grimsby, which opened in May 2005.

Boston Pizza Welland is an active member of the community year-round and will sponsor local amateur sports teams, schools and charities.  The restaurant will also raise funds for Kids Help Phone, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised $4.3 million for various Canadian charities.

Boston Pizza International Inc. began in Edmonton Alberta in 1964 and since then has grown to more than 200 restaurants across Canada.
