(March 19) – Today is the last official day of
winter!!!
On the eve of the
start of spring - Merrittville Speedway would like to
remind it’s drivers and race teams of am important
deadline fast approaching – Tuesday April 1st – and
it’s no April Fools Joke.
With the Baron Roofing
Spring Sizzler 100 now 38 days away and getting closer
to green means that time is running out on saving some
green.
In just 13 days time –
2008 Merrittville Speedway Dirt Weekly Racing Series
Memberships will increase from $50.00 to $75.00 as of
Tuesday April 1st. At the same time, the popular
$75.00 Driver VIP Pass will no longer be available.
“It’s hard to believe
that we’ll soon be back at the Pen for another year,”
revealed (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “and back
at the track as well for the season.”
While more than 20
race cars and karts show off their new colors and
sponsors at the Pen Centre the week of March 31st to
April 6th – the Speedway Office will also open for the
season.
Drivers wishing to
purchase their memberships and passes can visit the
Pen Centre during shopping hours or stop by the
Speedway itself during business hours.
Race fans will also
have the opportunity to purchase their Season Tickets.
For those wanting the Reserved Seating Option, seats
can also be picked out along the top two rows.
“It’s a real busy time
of year,” adds Bicknell, “bringing the track out of
hibernation for the schools and the new season is a
lot of work … but just like our fans … we’re excited
about the coming year … boogity … boogity … boogity –
it’s time to go racing!”
Prior to the Baron
Roofing Spring Sizzler 100 – the Thorold multi-track
facility will host 3 sessions of the Bicknell Racing
Products Chassis Seminar and Pete Bicknell Driving
Schools in addition to the RCM Racing Equipment Kart
School on the infield oval for the Tuesday Night Kart
Weekly Racing Series Race Teams.
One week prior to the
Baron Roofing Spring Sizzler 100 – Merrittville
Speedway will stage a Practice Day for all 5 of it’s
Dirt Weekly Racing Series Divisions – the Turn 4
Collision 4 Cylinders, Lucas Oil Open Wheel Lites,
Hoosier Stocks, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman and the
L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds on Saturday
April 19th.
The Test Tune and Time
Trial Day will set the front row for each of the 5
classes first point events which make up Saturday May
3rd’s Global Warranty Corporation Event.
Likewise – the Tuesday
Night Divisions - the Drummond Home Hardware Garden
City Auto Complex Novice 1 and 5 Original Pizza Log
Divisions – the KC Auto Parts Novice 2, RCM Racing
Equipment Cassell Manufacturing Junior 1, Ed
MacPherson Construction Junior 2, Superior PetroFuels
Junior Restricted, Heavy, Philbrick Farm & Garden
Stock Medium and the new PartSource Masters Division
will have a Practice Session – Tuesday April 22nd –
prior to the Spring Series Opener – Tuesday April
29th.
Drivers and or crew
members wishing to participate in either school should
contact the Speedway Winter Office until April 1st at
the Winter Office located at Bicknell Racing Products
in St. Catharines Ontario at 905-685-7223.

local Dirt Track is where it’s at and it’s at
Merrittville Speedway in just 38 Days – Saturday April
26th.
The
star studded 358 Modified Super DIRTcar Series Stars
are set to challenge our home town heroes in the
Spring Sizzler 100 Super DIRTcar Series presented by
Baron Roofing.
April’s Event also includes a 40 lap event for the
Sportsman and a 25 lap Street Stock Open Event.
With
plenty of free camping – it puts Merrittville Speedway
on the map as a must see event and it’s just the start
of 2008 – you won’t want to miss a single event all
season!
