17) – Merrittville Speedway would like to wish all
it’s Irish fans and race teams … and everyone else in
green today - a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
It can only mean that
we will be seeing green – Starter Doug Leonard’s Green
Flag as in just 40 days – the Baron Roofing Spring
Sizzler 100 will feature a 40 lap support event for
the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman Division.
When you toss in a 100
lap DIRTcar 358 Modified Super DIRT Series Event and a
25 lap Street Stock Open featuring the Hoosier Stocks
– it is shaping up to be the biggest Season Opener in
the Thorold track’s 57 year history.
“Baron is set to help
us raise the roof on the new season in a very special
way,” reveals Bicknell, “thanks to Terry Keagan … it’s
going to be so big we’ll also have to open some doors
and windows too.”

Western New York Sportsman Teams are sure to check
into Merrittville’s Pit Area – looking to get a handle
on the d-shaped dirt showplace perhaps in perhaps for
the Lucas Oil Shootout Event later on in the summer –
not to mention – the 2008 Season Finale and the annual
Sportsmen Super DIRTcar Event in September.

Those wishing to win

challenge our home town heroes in the Spring Sizzler

includes a 40 lap event for the Sportsman and a 25 lap
Street Stock Open Event.
